Frequently Asked Questions

What is EasySSP?

EasySSP is a simple little web app to help you easily customize the appearance of your SlideShow Pro (SSP) movies.

Do I need to use EasySSP in order to use SlideShowPro?

No. SlideShowPro is a standalone Flash component and has a similar interface as you see here. The purpose of this app is just to make it a little easier for you and your CPU.

Do I need to own the Adobe Flash program in order to use SlideShowPro or EasySSP?

No. While the SlideShowPro documentation states that users are required to own Adobe Flash, with EasySSP you don't need to anymore.

Experienced ActionScript coders have the ability to heavily customize and override SlideShowPro, however the Adobe Flash authoring environment costs about $700(USD). EasySSP allows you to purchase SlideShowPro and use it without purchasing the Flash authoring environment.

Are there any advantages or disadvantages of using EasySSP instead of SlideShowPro?

Yes, but not for most people. EasySSP allows you to customize all of the core component options of SlideShowPro.
An advantage of EasySSP is that you get instant gratification straight in your browser window. The Adobe Flash authoring environment requires you to export your movie, upload to your server, review, go back to Flash and make additional changes. EasySSP generates it with a single click.

Do I need to own SlideShowPro in order to use EasySSP?

YES! SlideShowPro is a commercially licensed product and is very affordable. Just $29(USD). - Purchase SlideShowPro
EasySSP requires SlideShowPro version 1.8.8 or higher.

I've purchased SlideShowPro. How do I incorporate a Flash movie into my site?

The SlideShowPro documentation has loads of extensive information on this topic. To learn how to implement an EasySSP configuration into your new or existing Flash movie, please see the EasySSP documentation.

How do I create images and galleries to use in SlideShowPro?

This is entirely up to you. SlideShowPro reads your gallery and image information by means of an XML file. This is also covered on the SlideShowPro documentation site. There are several tools for doing this but perhaps the best one is SlideShowPro Director.
